Disadvantage of Avoiding Probate Via Payable on Death (POD)

If you create a “payable on death” account which has two beneficiaries and one of the beneficiaries dies before you, that beneficiary’s half will not pass to his children; but, rather, to the other beneficiary regardless of what you intended.
